Let me introduce myself. My name is Christine Lacroix and I have been quilting for more than 20 years. My husband Joseph is sometimes my assistant! I am a mother of three: Aurélie, Emilie and Justine.
I have always been interested in craft and especially knitting and working on fabric – stemmed from the fact that my mother was a seamstress! When my youngest was old enough to go to school, I joined an association which offered a patchwork activity and that’s when my adventure with patchwork and quilting started!
Of course, I have to point out that, Joseph being in the military, we moved a lot and therefore I met lots of women and men (yes, even men!) passionate about this art form.
At the beginning, I worked almost exclusively by hand, then, a posting to the USA changed my vision of patchwork. I started to work on my sewing machine to assemble the pieces while continuing to quilt by hand.
However, in 2008, while I was living in Germany, I met a young lady who quilted on a longarm machine. I found this kind of work wonderful and wanted to experience it myself!
Now back in France, I am offering my services to all that have tops deserving of a nice quilting but who do not have the time to finish the work.
May 2011. Exciting! We just moved in our house in Pays Basque (southwest of France) where I got a brand new room for my longarm machine. I’m all ready to do nice work for you.
